The Monarch Candidate

The Monarch Candidate is someone who believes that organizations have the capacity, and the responsibility, to create lasting value for society. They recognize that management is more than the pursuit of organizational performance; it is the responsible stewardship of people, resources, institutions, and relationships entrusted to professional managers.

They are motivated not simply by personal advancement, but by the conviction that sound management can create greater opportunity, strengthen organizations, and contribute to more just, prosperous, and sustainable communities. Whether working within business, government, education, healthcare, non-profit organizations, or entrepreneurial ventures, they understand that effective management carries responsibilities that extend beyond the organization itself.

The Monarch Candidate seeks more than technical competence or leadership skills alone. They seek a deeper understanding of professional stewardship, responsible judgment, and the practical methodologies required to exercise entrusted responsibility wisely. They are intellectually curious, professionally reflective, and committed to continual growth: not merely as managers, but as stewards of the organizations and communities they serve.

If this perspective resonates with you, you may already be part of the Monarch community.

Monarch Switzerland maintains an active scholarly community where doctoral and post-doctoral research intersects with professional practice and global management trends. The Institutional News & Thought Leadership section highlights key developments across the School, including new research publications, doctoral milestones, faculty achievements, program innovations, and contributions to international academic dialogue. This evolving collection of articles reflects Monarch’s commitment to advancing evidence-informed management study and responsible leadership. Through updates on research activities, collaborative initiatives, academic conferences, and doctoral accomplishments, the section provides a window into the intellectual life of the Institute and the impact of its global research community.

A Structured Doctoral Journey - With Flexible Pathways

Monarch’s doctoral architecture is designed to support both scholarly progression and long-term academic ambition through integrated milestones and advanced degree pathways.

Master-in-Passing (M.Phil.)

A milestone in doctoral research

The Master-in-Passing recognizes the development of advanced research competence within the PhD journey. It is not a separate program, but an integrated academic milestone awarded concurrently with the doctoral degree.

Dual Degree Pathways

Extending doctoral research into a second degree

Monarch offers structured dual doctoral pathways allowing candidates to build upon their PhD research and extend it into a second applied or complementary doctoral qualification.

The individuals featured in this section represent Monarch Switzerland’s doctoral and post-doctoral candidates who are actively engaged in advancing applied and theoretical inquiry across the fields of management, leadership, ethics, sustainability, and organizational behaviour. Drawn from diverse professional backgrounds and geographic regions, these candidates bring lived experience, managerial insight, and intellectual curiosity to their scholarly work. Their profiles illustrate the depth and maturity of candidate research within the Institute, highlighting emerging contributions rooted in responsible leadership, qualitative and applied methodologies, and evidence-informed management practice.
